DIY Sandbag for Fitness Training

We decided to make a smaller, more compact sandbag that would be easier to use during our medley workouts as well as taking it to the range. This sandbag works great and is holding up really well especially with both of us using it almost everyday.

Equipment used:

We filled three contractor bags with 25 pounds of sand each, folded the bag over itself, and used a ton of gorilla tape on them.

The three bags ready to be loaded into the sandbag. The great thing about making numerous bags of the same weight is being able to add and decrease weight efficiently.

The finished sandbag with 2 25 pound bags in it (it has enough room to add the third 25 pound bag as well). We’ve been using it heavily near daily since we made it on May 18 and there hasn’t been any damage to the inner or outer bags!
