Meal Prep Recipe: Ground Beef Bowl 

This is a super easy and delicious recipe that you can customize to your taste buds and macro requirements! It also is great to make ahead and portion out for the week. 


  • 2 lbs ground beef (we use Costco 80/20 lean ground beef) 
  • Seasoning to taste 

Begin by mixing the ground beef and seasoning together. In the picture we have our Tacticalories seasonings as an example of some of the seasonings you can use. The beauty of this recipe is you can season it how you like. 

On medium heat begin to cook the beef. 

Tip: To help cook the meat thoroughly without it becoming too burnt, put a small amount of water in the pan with the meat and cover to create steam. 

Check the meat after about 5 minutes of steaming (depending on your stove heat) and begin to break the large pieces apart. Cook to your desired level of doneness; we like our ground beef well done so we turn the heat up to medium-high for the last couple minutes to crisp it.  

We added a serving of sweet peppers and our homemade salsa (recipe here) and garnished with cilantro. 

Other serving suggestions:

  • Add lettuce to make it a salad 
  • Add rice and/or beans 
  • Add it to eggs in the morning to make a delicious scramble 

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring or plain! You can still have fun with trying new seasonings and garnishing your meal!
